Pup problems!

I moved in with my boy friend about 6 months ago and he has a pup! My dad is afraid of dogs so I never had one as a pet and really not know much about them. She is about 5 years old and he has had her sense she was a pup. My problem is that she dosent listen....at all! For awhile I thought it was just me because I know her and I butted heads alot when I fist moved in, but she doesnt listen to him either. I just don't think he put alot of time into traning her. We have a baby on the way and her begging, not listening, and barking are starting to concern me. Is there anything I can do or is it too late because she is already full grown?

Get her in obedience classes now. She is still young enough to learn.

It's never too late for obedience training. Classes are fun, and you can both go.

Basic obedience; however, you and him MUST continue the obedience at home - no sense in taking lessons for behavior if you won't reinforce it at home.

It's never too late and something you can do in the meantime is practice the "NILIF" philosophy.

You need to invoke the use of NILIF...help her learn that Nothing good comes from her, or goes to her, without coming from and being earned from you...
