There are many things that could have happened to them. Predators, such as coyotes, raccoons, dogs and humans could have hurt them. They could've been hit by cars and tooken away by the SPCA. People could've found them and kept them or brought them to a shelter. There are many things that could've happened to them. The best way to prevent these things is to fix your cats and keep them inside at all times, unless they go out on a harness. Please update us!

My suggestion, once/if the kitten comes back, keep it in doors at all times. Keep any household cats you have indoors at all times! It CAN be done.
And yes please spay/neuter them and keep them up to date on their shots

I have lots many cats to the outdoors, I do not believe in "outdoor" cats anymore, unless they are true ferals whom can not be reabilitated.

I hope they don't have the Hartz flea collars on them *snickers*

I feel sorry for your outdoor kitty's.

Please some one provider her with some educational links on indoor cat living as I am far to upset by this person to continue talking and I know I will say something highly upsetting.

Anna, I'm sorry to hear your cat is missing. I have to agree with Lorie D. - you can have an indoor cat that is completely happy just being inside. The key is to give them lots of playtime, toys, maybe a nice cat tree to climb, and what more can they ask for? The fact is, cats are much safer indoors... free from harm of predators, fights with other cats that can spread disease and cause wounds that can become infected, or worse. There are no vehicles to worry about if your cat is indoor-only, and your cat has a very low chance of being stolen if they're kept inside. An outdoor cat enclosure or harness-training are two other options you have to let your cat out on supervised trips, but that are still safe. Not wanting to clean a litterbox is hardly a good reason (in my opinion, not fact) to keep your cat outdoors. They take 5 minutes to scoop, no big deal. You say you're upset your kitty is missing, but this isn't the first one you've lost, all because you think they're happier outside. I don't think any of the fates that your cats might be meeting are making them at all happy. And I'm sorry for the harshness, I don't want to be mean - I just feel bad your cat is missing and what fate it might have met.

In any case, as Angel mentioned, if your cat is wearing a Hartz flea-collar, you migth want to talk to the vet and get different medication for your cat... Advantage or Frontline... I've read some not so great things about Hartz products, I don't know what kind of detail I can go into here because of liability, but feel free to PM me and I'll write you back. Also, with the collar, please make sure it's a break-away sort, else your cat is able to hang itself.
