We've basically resolved on keeping Piper and Poppy indoors. I know if we give them to the animal shelter they will be adopted separately, and left outdoors.
One thing is - being indoors, and siblings, will they be more acceptant of other cats? For the short period of one night that we had other kittens in the house, Poppy hissed a bit, but Piper seemed to like to watch the other kittens. I really want them as socialized as possible, because I can't give up fostering - but i know it'll be hard because the future fosterers will roam the house after a few weeks. I'm not asking for snuggle-time but some politeness would be nice. Coriander despised any foster cats we brought home, maybe because we got her at 6 weeks and she was always bullied by our other cats. Will Piper and Poppy like other cats more because they are sisters, or will they form a 'clique' behaviour and attack fosters?? I really wanted to keep them together because I figure if nothing else they can occupy each others time when i need it for fostering.

Seems like they are young enough that they should get used to having other cats come and go. Hissing is a normal way for them to communicate. Poppy may want to assert her dominance as being the alpha cat and she has every right to do so...it is her house.

A little hissing and swatting is not an issue anad it will teach your fosters how to behave and learn the "rules" of proper kitty interaction.

Piper and Poppy will be teachers!
