Need some prayers and vibes! I quit my job last week and have been non stop searching for a job! Had an interview Tuesday and got offered something but it wasn't quite what I needed in the pay department so I turned it down.

So today I got called by another place and have an interview tomorrow (Friday) morning!!!
I Hope it all goes well! I am nervous, especially since I REALLY need to find a job soon!

Thanks! I'll let you know how it goes.

THANKS!!

Well, I'm glad I made the interview early...because now it's OVER!!!

It went very well and I think this may lead to something really cool. I didn't know going into it what position it was for (lol) but it ended up being for an ECG technician at a clinic just for vet specialists. Everybody there was super nice, the atmosphere was great and the job was very interesting! She had me sit with one of the techs and he taught me all about it. I guess she is going to have me back to go over it some more and so i can ask questions. I just hope I am not getting my hopes up for nothing!

Keep those prayers and vibes coming...I will keep you updated!!

Well I just had a 2nd interview there today!
It was called a working interview where I sat with a technician and observed the job. But to me it seemed a whole lot more like training than observation! I was taught a whole bunch, given handouts, took notes and even did some hands-on stuff. How is that not training??!

I was there for almost 2.5 hours..and didn't even see the manager until I left, and still did not have time to ask her pertinent information. She said she had to talk to the owner and let me know in the next couple of days about the job!

So is that a good thing? I just hope she is not stringing me along! I imagine they would not invest so much time in someone they weren't serious about hiring, right?? Argh, I just wish I knew something now.

I need more prayers and vibes...!!! I am getting so anxious about it.

Thanks, I will keep you posted!

Well, it sounds promising, but if they were really using the second interview as a training session, than you should be paid for it. IMO, if they are training you, they should be paying you for your time. An interview is an interview and training is training. Training comes after the interview.

I agree. It sounds like you have the job
I was a HR mgr. for 12 years and you don't train anyone without paying them. If they had you in there training or on a "working interview" chances are that you are hired

I agree, I feel like they got me in there for unpaid training by calling it a working interview, but what can I do about that? Not much. I certainly don't want to cause problems before I am even hired.

Yay, hopefully they call me soon and officially offer me it. Are "working interviews" common? What usually goes on during them? I just can't see how they can call it an interview when they didn't even ask me one question!

I mean I will need a lot more training than what I did today but this working interview certainly got me about half up to speed on the job tasks. I understand why they would want me in there observing-it is a very different job and they want to make sure I want to work there before they waste time and money on me-but to me observing people work isn't sitting next to a worker one-on-one while they explain everything to you!!! lol.

We shall see.

UGH! I am SO frustrated! I called Friday afternoon to check on things...and the PM(practice manager) was out of the office...in labor!! I guess she had her baby and got discharged on Sunday. On Friday I asked for the person who is was in charge in her absence and spoke with that person. She said she would get back with me ASAP. Well as of today I hadn't heard anything so I stopped by while I was "in the area" to get some answers. She still hadn't gotten a hold of the PM (understandable, she just had a baby but still) and had no answers for me. I asked for the owner and he wasn't in. The lady said she would get back to me this week...I asked what day (I even suggested days) and she just said this week. So, I am unsure of what to do. I need a yes or a no, and I have spent 4 hours of my time there and feel I deserve an answer. SOMEONE should know what is going on, and the PM should had had this worked out BEFORE she went into labor seeing as how she was already past her due date!!!!

I just hate that I might be wasting my time looking for other jobs if this one works out, but I just can't rely on getting it! I spent 12 hours yesterday on the computer doing job stuff, and spent today driving around talking to places, dropping of resumes and filling out applications. If I knew I had a job I could be enjoying my time "off" instead. Argh!! I am also afraid in the mean time I will get another job offer, and I will have to take it b/c we need the money. I am really interested in working at this place but they need to offer me something before I take another job and we both miss out.
