Why didn't anyone warn me the body falls about after age 35?

I seriously feel like my body is revolting anymore. It just doesn't like me. I was fine up until 2 years ago. Yeah, I would get sick every now and then and have little aches and pains but this is rediculous!

My back is screwed up and now I have to see a back specialist 9/10 (bulging disks), my knee has been killing me the last few weeks, I have to watch what I eat or my digestive system gets wacky (I'm STILL paying for the pork and saurercraut I ate Monday night), I'm constantly getting sinus headaches so I'm taking allergy pills every 4 hours. I honestly feel like I'm falling apart! And, I'm only 38!! I didn't think all this would happen until I was at least...well...I guess I AM middle aged.

I just wanted to vent. I miss the energy I had when I was 20!

I wish I was 38 again!

I hate to be the one to tell you this, Calico, but it doesn't get any better..

But you know what? I'm just grateful that I wake up every morning now, b/c the alternative is worse!

Wait and see what happens after 45

Seriously though I know what you mean, I sometimes feel exactly the same way. With me it's the joint issues I have with my knees and hands..and of coarse the big one the onset of Menopause.

Would I want to be 20 again, hmmm maybe when it comes to the energy and good health yes, but I have to say I appreciate the wisdom that comes with age....that I wouldn't change.

Aww hun
If it's any consolation, I'm only 27 and I'm not in great shape either.
Course most of it's probably my fault because I've smoked for 13 years, don't eat right and don't exercise.

I was younger then you when I started having problems. I never have energy and am always very tired. I also have arthritis. You are not alone but it gets worse, You will have to live with it even it will be hard. I have gerd and influx disease and have had sinus headaches and migraines since I was 15. I hope you feel better.

Sorry you dont feel great lately

Even though I'm not where you're at yet, I know my day will come
If it makes you feel any better I already cant remember anything, so in 10 years I will lucky to remember where I'm driving

Maybe we all just need a long vacation

to all of the above! [altho i'm not certain the alternative is worse - but this is all i know, life here on earth!] for one thing, if i were 38, i'd probably get cast more often
& my hip didn't pain me then, even tho i was over a 100 pounds heavier!

Sounds like a plan to me...

On the upside though I don't have to listen to weather reports anymore, if I go to roll over first thing in the morning and go Owww Oww Oww, there will be rain or snow before lunchtime...

I know what you mean! After my stroke in 2004, (5 days after my 48th birthday) I get tired very easily. When I get tired, I have problems speaking which was affected by my stroke. I can not do the overtime at work like I used to. And don't get me started about menopause. I am in the midst of that right now! LOL

I wish I knew what I know now when I was 20 and I would have taken much better care of myself. But everyone has 20/20 hindsite.

But I start my vacation on Saturday and don't have to be back at work until Sept 9th! going to Santa Barbara Sept 4-7 and really looking forward to getting away from the heat.

And I second starting a "falling apart club"

You and me both!

I am going for my orientation and training for my work trial today. I popped 2 Tylenol #3 and 3 Ibuprophen to get me through the afternoon.

I'll join the falling apart club!

I'm 35, and in the past few years I've had all sorts of new little aches, pains, sensitivities, etc. combined with new anxieties (yes i'm sure the two are related on some level). I try to remind myself that I'm still relatively young, but I gotta say, time is passing by faster lately than it ever has!

Will you let a 24 year old join the club??

My problems may not be due to age or not taking care of myself but I still have them! 11 years of gymnastics and 4 years of diving really screwed up my body and now I can't go a day without something-back, shoulder, hip, toe, wrist- killing me! I also have arthritis in my finger from a break I never let heal (nationals were that week!) and in my toe where a screw was inserted due to injury. LOL. And of course, those lovely genes from my parents...allergies, asthma , sinus problems, migraines. hehe.

Don't get me wrong though, I am in great shape and very healthy and have energy still...but do have my share of problems!!

My joints started deteriorating at the age of 9, I'm now 37 and can't walk far without pain. Count your blessings!

I like the idea of a club! Maybe we can all get t-shirts! And, I didn't mean to sound whiney or anything..it just seemed like everthing started going wrong at once. I feel like a car who's warranty just expired.

And thats guys for reminding me it only gets worse.

But, you're right, the alternative is worse. I'm glad I can get out of bed in the morning (more glad on my days off than days I have to work, of course), and I do count my blessings. I just can't wait to see what the big 40 brings. Please, don't ruin the surprise!

I'm going to be 30 this year

I woke up the other morning, looked in the mirror and said "Who is that?!"

I thought "Alycia, you're not 24 anymore. Maybe it's time to start acting and dressing like a "MOM"

Then I thought again... Nah, I'm 24 and holding!

My mom said she's 35 and holding
