Hair loss around eyes

I've noticed that my kitty Lucas has been losing hair in the corners of his eyes lately. I saw him scratching at it a bit too. It doesn't seem too serious, but I just want to be sure that it nothing really bad. Here's a picture...



He didn't want to stay still for the pictures so they didn't come out too well.

How old is he? I notice as my cats age they lose hair there and its normal.

i wonder possibly an allergy?? my mums dog is severely allergic to grasses & whenever she comes into contact she loses the hair around her eyes & mouth.

maybe mites??? would mites cause hairloss?

perhaps you could bathe the eyes in cooled boiled salty water & see if that helps. i do that to yoshi when her eyes run every now & then.

if it persists you should see the vet.
