Yes I know what a blog is but I don't have one. I don't know how to create one and publish it. I't been awhile since I've visited the TCS blog. I know Anne has another site called verdant forums. I'm a member there too although it's been awhile since I've been on.

Yes, I know what a blog is. I actually have one that I'm going to use when I move to Prague to keep in touch with family and friends. I didn't know there was a blog here. I love gardening! Where can I find that?

I know what a blog is and what it stands for, but I don't have any of my own blogs. The closest thing to blogging that I do is to post things on myspace. I never have any time to update a blog, plus I don't think people would want to read. I lead a boring lifestyle, that people wouldn't bother reading it. I know when I have kids, I'll start a blog with the pictures of them and everything so my parents and in laws can read it and see pictures of the kids. My boyfriend's sister does that since she lives in NC, and his parents live in VT, and that way his mom and dad can see pictures and read stories of their grandchildren. I don't read the blog very often on TCS. I never really have time. Pretty much I come on to check the forums and then get off. Since i'm so busy, that's all I have time to do. And yes, I was aware of gardening questions. I'll look for them on KatKwiz

Whoo Hoo! I have a ways to go to catch up to the #2 and #1 position but admittedly am having fun doing it! Lee, I thought email was an obvious choice considering that is what Kitty Bytes was all about, but who knows.

I didnt read today's KatKwiz until just now, but yes, I am aware of what a blog is. But do I know what it stands for??? Of course your question spiked my curiosity and I had to look it up, until today I didnt know it stood for anything. But you learn something new all the time and I learned it is short for "Web Log", it's a clever contraction really. I do know most blog communities are simple, templated websites that allow people with no technical knowledge to publish on the Internet, so a lot of people actually do "blog" even if they dont realize it. If you're part of MySpace, YearBook, FaceBook, Xanga, and you type your musings, even if it's not consistent or regular - you're a blogger They dont necessarily have to be public, many memoirs are set to private. Some are in between requiring a permission or a subscription to access the publications.

When Josh was first diagnosed I created a journal on Caring Bridge, to keep family and friends updated on Joshua's medical progress, it isnt really referred to as a "blog", but in all actuality, it is a diary of sorts. But it's funny that today's topic is about blogs, because I just started an "official" one on Google's Blogger today. My first entry was about the kids' first day of school! And again, oddly enough, I do know how to publish it, the program or site I use provides an easy interface and all I had to do to publish it was hit a button I just ventured away from that site before I came here. My kids just got done with their homework and I thought I'd sneak a couple minutes on TCS before I finish cooking dinner. The other day I said that I sometimes go and read the blog, I guess it's somewhere between rarely and often or always and never It's whenever I find time. It comes after my regular email, and after my TCS messages - if there is extra time to play around, usually late in the night when I cant sleep. It's interesting to see the cat in the spotlight and also to see the latest information regarding the photo contests. For some reason I cat view the pictures entered in the contest after they are picked for voting from my laptop - it is blocked by NetNanny installed on my daughter's laptop (which is the computer I find myself using most of the time) so viewing them on the blog is convenient!

As for being aware of information on here about gardening... well I know Anne is an avid gardener and that she has a site about gardening linked in her signature, so if that it what you're talking about - yes, it is called verdant forums and appears to be a message board of it's very own. And if that is what you're referring to - bring on the Kwiz - as long as it is next month But if you are talking about a site that is specifically ON TheCatSite... aside from the messages posted on other member's threads, I dont know. I do know there is a sticky with information on Cooking! In the Cat Lounge - with "super duper" important stuff, including the cookbook called Cooking with Cattitude!

Oh well, guess I've gone on enough once again. Thanks again for the points Persi, Lee & Alley!!

I dont know what blog technically stands for, but Ive read some blogs from alot of people, Anne for one! She also has a gardening Site/Forum and Ive peaked in there before too! I rarely ever read the blogs that are posted on the cat site, not because I dont want to but because I have little time. Working two jobs unfortunatly right now. I love reading the blogs though they are interesting and you can learn alot about people and cat and pets in general from reading their blogs! I guess that I think its fun to read and post on other users blogs! I am aware of the gardening information on the catsite! I think theres alot of it some maybe because people are trying to figure out which plants are safe and because there are alot of people interested in it and because alot of members are also members of the Gardening forums that Anne has!!
