Wish me luck. I just moved the temporary upstairs litter box down to the basement, so the two kitties now have two litter boxes side by side in the permanent location. Bubba had already had his box moved down there (successfully) for a few days before Scaredy Cat arrived and needed a box in her bedroom, then later out in the hall. Scaredy Cat has been exploring the basement for several days now.

I moved upstairs box right after kitty lunch and then lured them both downstairs where they each did their business in one of the boxes.

We'll see how it goes. It's the last step in gathering up all the temporary new kitty food bowls, water bowls, and boxes and putting Bubba Junior and Scaredy Cat into the normal routine -- eating in the kitchen, pooping in the basement, and so on and so forth.

So far, so good. About two hours after lunch I went downstairs to the basement. The kitties followed me, roamed around for a bit and both did more of their business in the two boxes. Cats are so smart.

Oh, and Scaredy Cat came over to get a little petting a while ago. I reached down, petted her, and then picked her up with one hand under her belly to carry her from the floor to a window sill. She didn't flinch or freakout getting picked up -- the first time I've tried. That's a very good sign. I figured she'd be like carrying a porcupine.

That is great news, they usually come around, it takes time and patience. Its well worth it. Congratulations on a job well done.
