I was trying to log back on to TCS last night, and I kept getting this "database error" message.
I haven't tried logging back on with the computer yet (I'm using my WebTV right now) b/c I'm expecting a phone call and I don't want to tie up the line. The WebTV will disconnect if a call comes through, but the computer won't..

Anyway, was anyone else having this problem?

I sure hope it isn't something with the computer again!!

Yes, TCS was having a problem. Anne has posted about it in the Announcements forum.

Oh Thank the Lord!
(not that I want to see any problems with TCS!
) But I was almost afraid to try the computer again, for fear of finding out it might be a computer issue again!
I seem to have a computer "curse" or something!

Thanks, LuvMyCat!

I've been having it all day, especially when I edit a message.

I had it last night.

After reading the announcement stating how there is server overload. My best guess after having these types of problems before, is that the server is slowing down the processes (if it's overloaded) and it's causing MySQL to time out or fail to connect at all. It thinks the server is unreachable. Keep in mind, MySQL doesn't know that the stuff it's doing is all on the same server.

That's PURELY a guess, but an overloaded server will produce these types of issues because there are instructions stuck in the system waiting to go, but they time out because there are too many other instructions ahead of it.

Yeah, when I got on TCS today the first thing I did was go to Announments to see what was going on.

And this is good advice. If you're having problems, the time saver would be to go to the Announcements and see if there's already a discussion about it.

That's normally what I would do, but since I've got this computer "curse", I just figured it was a problem on my end again..

I'm sure glad it's not!
