OK, for starters, how can I set it up so I'm alerted when I have a pending friend request? Secondly how do I send someone a friend request?

I never did anything to set up that I received e-mails I got a friend request
and as for requesting friends, you go into the member's public profile and then on the right hand side at the bottom of the Friends block it says "befriend ______" you just click on that link and then click yes!
I just requested you to be my friend so let's see if you get an e-mail
