Hey guys,
Im not sure if this is a problem or not. I just bought a 13 week old himmy cat yesterday. He acts fine. Plays around and eats. He seems to be sneezing sometimes like 3-4 times every 5 minutes. Then sometimes it doesnt happen at all for a couple of hours. Also he breathes very loudly at times.. Is that because of his short nose? His nose and eyes seem to be fine. Lastly sometimes he seems like he is trying to cough something up. Please let me know if this is normal. Thanks

EDIT: Actually sometimes he has some snot in his nose.

Sounds like he has the start of a upper respitory infection. I would have him checked out by your vet soon.

Agreed. URI needs treatment. If you got him from a breeder you may want to see what their responsibility is.

Definitely sounds like the start of an URI, which is very common in cats when their environment is changed and the stress of a new home. Take him to the vet to be checked out and put on an antibiotic.

Prices vary so call the vet and ask. If your guy hasn't been seen by a vet, now's the perfect time for a visit for an overall checkup. When you call, tell them you suspect he has an URI. Ask how much the office visit is and an approx. cost for antibiotics. Get him in today or tomorrow. Don't wait as kitties can go downhill quickly, esp. if they're young.

My kitten had the EXACT same symptoms when I adopted him from the SPCA. They sent him home with a bottle of amoxacilin (probably spelled wrong) and he was fine in about a week.
