New baby not pooping?

Thread Starter
I got my first orphan kitty last Friday, eyes not yet open. Weighed 5.0 oz and is now up to 6.1 oz.

He had a little somewhat formed poop on Saturday, then a bit of diarrhea on Sunday and nothing since. He seems to pee fine. Do they get constipated? There have a been a few drops of brown on the paper towel or cotton ball when I've stimulated but that's it. I don't want him to get backed up...

Thanks.

Kitten constipation can be bad... it can rupture the bladder..... Piper and Poppy were both very constipated when we got them. Sometimes Poppy would pass rock hard little pooplets. Not much though. We had the vet prescribe some Enulose. We were giving them twice as much as an adult cat should have and still nothing. Then one day we gave Piper some goats milk. It caused her to have diarrhea as well as vomit a lot, and she got so weak she almost died. But then the next day she was fine. So i don't really know what to offer you. KMR seems to stuff kittens up. Try some enulose or mix a little goats milk in.
