I forgot to post this the other day!

On Saturday I went to the library. The driver of the car had a CD playing with nothing but "O Canada." There were purely instrumental versions, and versions in French or English by a variety of singers. It was an interesting ride to say the least!
I'm glad it was a relatively short trip.

Awww, I think that is sweet! Of course, I don't think I could listen to the "Star Spangled Banner" for hours.

That's one of the reasons I love the Olympics. Being from the USA, I equate being patriotic to being American (egocentric, I know), but when I see athletes from other countries tearing up while they watch their flag go up first to their national anthem, it puts things in perspective.

In the snow!!!!
I used to have a cassette tape of John Phillip Sousa songs. They make a person feel instantly patriotic, but after cycling through the tape player a half-dozen times, I "lost" the tape in a fit of un-patriotitism

I'm not Canadian, but I love Oh Canada! I'm not sure I'd want to listen to dozens of different versions on a car ride though (and that applies to any song).

On a somewhat related note, one of the funniest things I've read in a while was on a site where you post misheard song lyrics. A woman posted that her son was singing "Oh Canada, we stand on cars and freeze."

Why not! That surely fits!
In many parts of the country during winter, that is true when we're digging out our cars!

Ain't that the truth. Jeff foxworthy has a joke that goes "If you mow your lawn and find a car, you might be a redneck.". Well I came up with my own little thing like this: "If you shovel your driveway in the winter and find a car, you might be a Canadian."
