I like the TV show theme idea! What about a "Meerkat Manor" theme? Lots of unique names to choose from there! Every time I hear the name Rocket Dawg I giggle a little.
Let's see, other characters are Wilson, Zaphod, Maybelline, of course Flower... I can't remember the rest!

Or how about Starbuck, Apollo, Helo, and Boomer? (Any other BSG fans here?
) I know Starbuck and Boomer are both girls in the new series, but I think they're both pretty gender-neutral names!

Yes, Adagio is a great name

I like those names a lot. Especially Adagio (of course) and Staccato

Sorry - BSG=Battlestar Galactica (Yes, I'm a little bit of a sci-fi geek!) Meerkat Manor is a show on Animal Planet that uses researchers' footage with a voiceover to tell the meerkats' story. I just started watching Meerkat Manor a few months ago, and I swear there is more drama in those little creatures' lives than in any soap opera!

I'll try to think of some more ideas. Any books you particularly like? You could use character names from that. This finding a theme business is hard!

I'm a Sci Fi geek....I love Stargate SG-1 even if it isn't on anymore.
I wanted to name them from that series, but figured no one would know the names.

I never watched that one, but I bet you'd be surprised who would recognize them!

Do people who adopt the cats actually keep the names you give them? I know I immediately renamed mine because I didn't particularly like the names they already had.

No, but the names pay to get them noticed. Sponge Bob was adopted because his name was Sponge Bob (which the people kept). Mufasa was adopted for his name (which was changed).

Names do matter and I know it from the shelter. People look at the ones with names they like even if they plan to change them.

Charlotte
Templeton
Wilbur
Henry

From Charlotte's Web. I was thinking of maybe popular children's books.

Aw, the Charlotte's Web names are cute! Maybe Aristocats names? Summer Olympics theme? (Freestyle, Relay, etc) I think I'm just about out of ideas!

You said you like Stargate SG-1... So why not name them after popular/famous Sci-Fi SHOWS?

For example, name them:

Stargate and Startrek for the "twin" Meezers
Babylon for the girl (for Babylon 5)
X-files for the Tabby

Or there are a lot of combinations, you could use YOUR favorite sci-fi shows. Just in case you like the idea and need help, here's a link to the top 100 sci-fi shows Check 'em out.

They are so cute!

The more I look into names, the more I wish I had 1,000 kittens to name!

Now that I know I have 3 boys/1 girl, all I keep coming up with are girl names.

In mockery of someone else at the shelter.....I want to name one Pickles. To go with Pickles, I thought up Bubbles. Now I need 2 more names that are along those lines....ending in 'es' for sure.

Cockles, Mussels, Relish [not 'es' but goes w/Pickles], Barbells... not sure what you're after. what about this, instead - Pickles, Relish, Ketchup & Mayo [or Mustard]?

Ok, Pickles for one, Bubbles and Bobbles for the "twins," and Chuckles for the other.

I can probably come up with more "les" names, but maybe you would like those!
