So we were coming back into the house from a tour of the lake for my cousin's birthday, and this lovely little guy is sitting on our porch. He's such a sweet heart - came right up to me and let me scritch his head and loved it the whole time. He even flopped over on his belly to let me scratch him. He's got a flea collar on, but no collar and tags, and looks like he's been neutered. (Either that, or I'm losing my touch and "he" is a she.
) Very friendly, also looked like he wanted to come into the house with us, but my parents don't like indoor cats and we had a lot of family over including a little one, so no go there. So it seems to me at one point he was a loved indoor cat.

But he is soooo skinny. I mean his little stomach looks caved in between his ribs and his hips, and you can feel all the bones in his body. :-( If he belongs to someone, they haven't fed him in a long time. I managed to get him some hot dog and some other scraps (boys aren't with me at the parents' house, so no real kitty food around).

I'm very tempted to take him home with me and fatten him up, but I'm not sure I have the money right now to get him vetted up the way he should if he's going to be around my cats. Not to mention Chay isn't very tolerating of cats on his territory, though Billy loves them. Someone also reminded me that someone may be looking for this sweet guy, and I live 2 and a half hours away from my parents.

I think, for now, I'm just going to convince them to feed the cat (shouldn't be too hard, even though they don't live at that house - their house is about 10 minutes away) and maybe see if it has a microchip. Seems kind of unlikely in the little town I'm in, but you never know.

I'll also see if they can put up found cat signs, or put an ad in the paper or something. But if they can't find who owns this guy, I might take him with me and see if he can either fit in with my boys, or get him healthy and find him a home somewhere. He needs to be indoors, I think, and definitely loved.

Can we get some vibes for finding this cutie either his home, or a new furever home? I took some pictures, but it was night time, and I left my camera at the other house, so I'll put some up later.

P.S. If I get to go to the Dallas meet up....is anyone from there interested in a handsome new kitty?

Poor little boy or girl.
I think your plan sounds like a good one. If he is lost someone may be missing their loved pet. If not then he/she gets a good shot with you.

Unfortunately, I didn't see him again before I left. But I asked my mom to keep an eye out for him, and to feed him if he shows up again. I also asked her to put an ad in the paper, so we'll see what happens. Pictures coming soon, really. :p

Okay, finally, a picture of the cutie. Its not very good, but the only time I saw him was at night. Parents haven't said if they've seen him again though.
