It seems everyone is talking about Michael Phelps! Between his record setting and medal winning to the fact that every single woman I've discussed the olympics with thinks he is just about the hottest thing ever, yeah his name is all over the place.

I watched most of his races this week, but I was totally into the women's gymnastics with Shawn Johnson and Nastia Leukin. (Probably butchered her name there) Both were so great but I kept thinking there was some unfair judging going on. But eh, they did great anyway!

Wow, how do you know Shawn Johnson? I thought her and Nastia were amazing. (...and I defiantly agree that some of the judging seemed very questionable against the Americans)

Micheal Phelps is pretty amazing. He makes it look so easy and effortless! Can anyone believe how close that race was last night?

I'm normally all about underdogs, but the Michael Phelps medal quest is irresistible. My mom and I are both glued to the set when he's on -- not because we find him attractive or anything, but just because he seems like such a nice guy, so sincere. It's fun to watch how excited he gets, and his mom is such a hoot, too. I'm so happy for him! I dearly hope he wins #8!

I was amazed things came out so well for Nastia and Shawn, considering the way the scoring went in the early stages. They're both extraordinary athletes, and they seem like nice girls, too. And Nastia's flexibility just flabbergasts me.

But the person who's the most fun to watch is Bela Karolyi! Did you see his reactions while he watched Nastia and Shawn in the finals? No wonder Mary Lou Retton did so well -- if I had someone that enthusiastic cheering me on, I bet even I could stick a full-twisting double-back dismount!

Yep, Michael Phelps here. One reason is because I looked at him and wondered if he had a syndrome to make him so amazing - and apparently, he does - marfans. Wow.

I'd never heard of Marfans, but I just looked it up. I guess that's why his joints are so flexible... but does it also mean he may become disabled with age? What a terrible irony that would be!

Now it's even more important to me that he wins tonight. Go Michael Go Michael GO!

Apparently it can cause heart problems as well but he has regular check ups at Johns Hopkins. I hope he would not become disabled with age, he is just too good and with his attitude, I hope he wins!

My cousin has been in gymnastics since she was young and has been going to the same gym as Shawn. I've met her a few times at national competitions when she was young and Shawn was at my cousin's graduation party. My SO got to meet her then too, he was excited about that! I think the judging is questionable as well!

Phels is amazing too! We've been watching him too!

We are huge softball fanatics here, so it's no surprise that Cat Osterman and Jennie Finch are household names. Their performance is amazing. I ask my daughters how'd they like to play defense with pitchers like that - they said they'd bring a book to read for their down time

Go Team USA
