Hello cat lovers! My name is Fawn and I joined this forum a few days ago. Right now I am dealing with introducing a new kitten to a cranky, somewhat traumatized older cat. I have always been an animal lover with a long list of animals in my past. I recently graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Elementary Education, and have been substitute teaching in Des Moines, Iowa. I love my job!
My pet household has included Thora, my older cat since my sophomore year of high school, when I brought her down from MN after a bout with fatty liver disease from which she almost died since my dad was taking care of her and didn't want to pay for a vet visit. Since then she has been a little strange, but always loving to me. It took her a while to get used to my boyfriend moving in, since he took her place in my bed and took attention away from him
Now we have a brand new kitty, 8 week old Eli, who we are trying to slowly introduce. He is a spitfire- today he got himself trapped underneath the refrigerator-- a little too adventurous! I look forward to hearing and giving advice and getting to know you and your cats!
