I really need some support....I am totally addicted to Dr. Pepper, and drink way too much of it..I don't even eat that much at all, it's just I had 3 kids from 8/96 to 12/99...they were all close together, and gained too much weight...I am not fat, but just bigger than I would like to be....I really would love to lose like 50lbs...any tips, ideas, I try to drink more water, but the more it seems I drink, and the less Dr. Pepper I drink, I get major withdrawls and start getting bad bad headaches....I just wondered how everyone else out here does it...TIA!

Kathy, I don't know much about weight-loss myself, but I know that substituting regular soda with diet has helped me drop a bunch of weight.

There are a few threads some of the members here have going to support weight-loss.

do you like diet dr pepper? To me it taste almost the same as normal doc pepper. Walking always does the trick for me...or dancing...like when i'm cooking i can just turn the radio and dance...give ya a nice little work out and then you don't nibble as much
i need to start doing that stuff again!!!

Kathy, I can relate totally. I know if I cut out cola, I would lose weight, but the caffeine withdrawal would be terrible. BTW, Dr Pepper has more caffeine than cola! I am trying to wean myself down to only having it with meals, but it is very hard. Caffeine and sugar are both very addictive.

You have to be careful with the diet sodas, too. They have a lot of sodium in them, which can cause you to retain water and not lose weight. It depends on how many diet sodas you drink each day. Try working out with weights, too, when you increase your muscle mass, you burn more fat.

I dont know how safe they are, but I went to Hi-Health the other day & bought carb blockers. They arent the ones without the appetite supressor. Supposedly, you take 2 pills 15-30 minutes prior to eating & they absorb the carbs. I took 2 on Friday. I looked on the bottle and it does not have euphedra in it either. They are called doctor's diet carb blockers.
I have been cutting out soda, too.

Just slowly cut down on how much Dr.P you drink a day, and each day that you cut down on it, substitute water with the portion of Dr.P you cut out.

Also, to keep your metabolism going all day.. it is VERY important that you constantly have food in your stomach. Not a lot of food, but you need to always have something in there so that your stomach is digesting it and your metabolism is working.

My trainer has me eating every 3 hours. Small portions nothing big. Piece of fruit like a banana and an apple and a bagel or a hotpocket. You wouldn't believe how much energy I have now. Exercise helps a lot too, a brisk walk or dancing around the house!

Good luck. I'm currently going to the gym and working with a personal trainer. I need to lose at least 10% body fat, but I'm aiming at going down about 4 - 5 dress sizes.
It's hard work, but I'm determined to stick with it!!

Kiwideus,
No, so far they have not made me jittery. The bottle cost me about $14.99. They arent too big of a pill either.

There is also some other one called "Body For Life" Its a chocoloate or vanilla wafer type that you take. From what they said, it is supposed to target your hard-to-get-rid-of-fat areas. Not sure how they owrk, but supposedly it melts it away.

Hubby said I shouldnt be taking the carb blockers because its not approved by the FDA, but daily vitamins arent approved either. So, I dont know..........
