I absolutely hate opening canned biscuits or cinnamon rolls. I know the can will "pop" and make a sound so I prepare myself but it still gets me every single time. I jump and let out a little EEP.
I don't know, maybe I psych myself out too bad and that's why it scares me. Does this happen to anyone else or am I just goofy.

YES! Oh my gosh, I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one!
I have to squinch my eyes up and look away before I whack it.

LOL! Me,too! I know it's gonna happen and I steel myself for it. But the POP! always makes me jump and make a noise of some sort. I guess I'm kinda afraid it's gonna pop out of the can all over the place. Glad to know I'm not alone!

if you're asking me, you're just goofy

if you just open it slowly, & don't hit it on the counter, it'll pop by itself.
or, go to Grandy's for their Sinnamon Rolls
or get the pre-baked biscuits Pillsbury has in the frozen section... or make your own [from scratch! well, almost] from Bisquick. it's pretty easy, & the recipe & directions are on the Bisquick box.

I was in the grocery store once and had just moved one out of my way when it popped. Made me jump a couple of inches. It makes me more nervous when they don't pop because I've had a couple that did not want to budge.

Yeah, you are silly. But it makes me worry a bit, too!

Did any of you see that Myth Busters where they explored the myth of the lady who was driving home from shopping and thought she got shot in the head. She grabbed the back of her head and felt something squishy, and thought she was holding her brains in, until the ambulance got there, and it was one of those dough things that had got really hot and exploded!

So there! It didn't hurt her at all, but it gives you reason to be scared! I think they decided the myth was "possible", but not confirmed. They found that if just right, they could explode, but it was unlikely. I don't really remember. Any one else remember??

That episode of Mythbusters was funny

I can never get them to open by just peeling them so I end up having to whack it on the counter. I squinch my eyes and hold it as far away as possible. My in-laws and my hubby get a kick out of how I react to it.

Lewis Grizzard called those "whomp biscuits." He said there'd be no divorce in the south if they'd never been invented.

Well I never smack mine on the counter. If it doesn't open when I peel the paper I just press a spoon on the seam. I did hear about that lady on MythBusters though.

if they don't open, besides the 'spoon technique' you can sometimes just twist the can after peeling.
