The object of the game is to name the song that the lyrics are from, and also the person/group who sings it.
For example, if I choose, "Dashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh", the next poster would say "Jingle Bells", and whoever sings it - which in this case, could be just about anybody, b/c so many singers have sung it. Then that person gets to choose the lyrics from any song he/she chooses, and the next poster guesses what song it is and who sings it - etc., etc.

The lyrics I choose are: "I remember every little thing as if it only happened yesterday - parking by the lake and there was not another car in sight."

Name the song, and who sings it!

Ah, yes, "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights," by Meatloaf. A Dallas boy, by the way.

So...

"There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin."

This is just too easy, I know!

Sweet Home Alabama by Lynard Skynard.

"We don't even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don't know just where our bones will rest
To dust, I guess
Forgotten and absorbed to the earth below"

OK, here's mine ... this should be an easy one. *smile*

" ... this ain't no temporary, typical, tearful goodbye, uh, uh, uh.
This ain't no breakin' up an' wakin' up an' makin' up one more time, uh, uh, uh."

Gone by Montgomery Gentry I think.

Here's mine:
"As the rain is pouring down, tears of sorrow wash his mind.
Drifting with the current, the stream of life flows on.
He seems alone and silent. Waiting on his hands and knees.
The chill of winter's darkness sits quietly."

Ok I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wait for someone to tell me if I was right or not. So here is my lyric/song.

"I may not be a ten, but the boys say I clean up good
And if I gave 'em half a chance for some rowdy romance
You know they would
I've been waitin' all week just to have a good time
So bring on them cowboys and their pick-up lines"

I think I prefer the name that tune other thread because there you just have to have a song with a title beginning with the last letter of the song posted before. Here, there is so much diversity and we all have wildly varying tastes. Back to the other thread for me.

It's more of a challenge this way!

Hey, here's a thought: what if each person gave three bits of lyric, rather than one -- A, B, and C -- so people have a better chance of being able to participate?

That's a good idea, Carol.

You didn't choose your song for the next person, Dixie Darlin.
