When I got home from work this morning my first thought was that Goldy looked skinny, but she hasn't had her kittens yet. She's never been huge but when you looked straight down at her back you could see cute little bumps sticking out at the sides. Now there's barely a curve. Her kittens seem to have moved more toward her middle or deeper inside, if that's makes any sense. I can feel them moving but can't distinguish the individual kittens any more.

Is this normal or should I be getting worried? (I'm very good at worry
)

Thanks skewch and mews2much. I was hoping that's what it was, but this is my first time as a kitty midwife and I don't know exactly when she's due. When I took her to the vet July 22 he told me probably another 2-1/2 to 3 weeks. That's right about now.

Assuming pregnant cats are like pregnant humans, I know they all present differently. That said, are there any other signs I can watch for to tell me when she's getting close? I really don't want to miss this one.

The last time I picked her up she had a damp spot near the base of her tail. I don't know if it was from a clear discharge or if she'd just been cleaning herself. She's been moaning in her sleep, which I hadn't heard before.

I really thought it was going to be last night. She was very restless, getting up and changing position every few minutes, along with some moaning and heavy breathing a couple of times. She finally settled down and went to sleep, so I got a few hours of sleep as well.

When I got up this morning she came running across the living room looking for her breakfast. It was really funny. She was kind of high-stepping with all four legs spread out to the sides.

I hope she has them today so I can start getting more sleep. Or is that going to be less sleep?

You will get more sleep but you will want to be up to stare at the cuteness that is the kittens. I was beside myself. I loved looking at them.
