All I can is being the Mayor, I hope he roasts those cops behinds and good. I would say what I really felt, but this is a family site. Grrrrrrrrrr.
I'm glad the community came out to support them, I hope that gave them some sense of comfort. Just horrible.
The town itself may be small, but from what I understand it is a suburb of Washington DC (at least I know it is highlighted on the DC news) so the area itself is urban. Owning 2 labs myself, I know how friendly they are but I also know people who aren't familiar with them don't always recongize the difference between a VERY friendly greeting (barking, jumping) and an aggressive dog. I think the main problem here is lack of dog training on the part of the police. Since so many people own dogs, they should be trained to know the difference.
I don't understand why they don't have someone there with a tranqualizer gun instead of an actual gun to take care of any animals.
What I find hard to believe is that these policemen, who work for the city, didn't recognize their own mayor. I know in my home town in Maryland, all the police know where the mayor lives because many have been to his house and patroling the street is part of the job.
