The vet prescribed Revolution for little Sunny when he was there a week ago. I waited until Friday to give it to him and he was fine Friday night. The trouble is that ever since Saturday he's been sleeping
. He hasn't gone off to sleep away from us like he did when he was sick. He's eating, however his appetitie is not as hearty as it usually is. He slept all but about an hour yesturday and will play if we go to play with him. As soon as we stop he's right back to sleep. He wasn't crying to eat this morning and did eat a tiny bit when I fed him. He didn't cry when his dad went to work today - he curled up on my shoes and is sleeping - still.

Anyone else have their kitten on Revolution? I'm wondering if it's too strong for him and his little system. It's just not like him to sleep so much - he's typically a wild man and I'm missing his craziness now. I know we all have days where we want to relax and perhaps nap but now we are on the second day of this.

The very first thing you should do is telephone your vet. Your kitty may definitely be having a reaction to the Revolution. I know Mika did and she is now on Advantage instead.

You are the one that knows your cat and if he is behaving differently since the application of the Revolution, then please call your vet and tell him what you told us.

I rushed him to the vet this am since he was not himself. He has a fever of 103.5 and they are running tests on him to determine what the matter is and giving him antibiotics and an IV for fluids. He was tested for FIV & lieukemia and was negative for that. The vet thinks that he may possibly have Bartonella's (spelling?) which is a bloodborne illness that they get from fleas. When we found him approx 2 mos ago, he had a terrible case of the fleas.
I just came back from bringing his food to them since he is so terribly picky about what he eats.

I miss my little guy and hated to have to leave him there
. I pray he's ok.

Have them check for Fia which is Feline Infectionous Anemia and can come from fleas also. My Coco had it and and almost died in 2001. They did so many tests and didnt w=find the problem until my vet did that test. I hope he will be ok and feels better.

Thank you. They are doing additional bloodwork to determine what the problem is in addition to the Bartonella's blood test. We are going to get to the bottom of my little guy's problems. We want him healthy and back to his wild and craziness.

It takes a week for the Bartonella's testing to come back, but we should have the results from his bloodwork sooner than that.

It's a flea treatment that also guards against ear mites and worms. I'd never heard of it and used Advantage on my dogs, so I thought that was what he'd use. The vet had other ideas. Regardless of what they find today, he will not be using Revolution in the future - he will use Advantage.

The vet just called. Little Sunny still has a fever and they still have him on an IV. He scarfed up his food this morning. We should have the bloodwork back this afternoon. It's quite lonely around the house without my little buddy scampering all around. It's amazing how attached I am to this little guy after just 2 mos.

Please pray for our little angel.

I read somewhere that out of many of the popular monthly flea products being used on pets in vet clinics, Revolution has the highest rate of death.

In fact, being logging into TCS tonight, I was reading about the negative effects Revolution has had on dogs and cats in a pet rescue message board.

Of course, I don't know if Revolution directly caused the lethargy in your cat, but I would say if you're still going to use these products on him, to definitely try another one.

Would you be kind enough to link to the information about Revolution causing death. I think we would be interested in reading it.

We were able to pick up little Sunny yesturday afternoon

We are still waiting on the Bartonella's testing to come back and it should be back Friday afternoon. All of his bloodwork came back perfectly normal
. The vet said that after I left him his temperature spiked to 108, which scares me to death. So far, until we get the other test back, she is saying that it could just be one of those "nothing" fevers. I hope that is what it is.

I have to give him Doxycycline every 12 hours and our first dose is just 3 minutes away.

He saw another vet in the office since I didn't like that the other Dr. gave him a shot without my consent. I really liked her. I told her that I didn't want to keep going with the Revolution since I am still somewhat suspicious of it. She understood and we will be giving him Advantage next month (but only during flea season).

It's so nice to have him wake me up to feed him promptly at 6:15am. It's great that he cried for 15 minutes when his Dad left for work today. I loved every minute of tripping over him on my way to the kitchen this morning. It's only been a couple of months, yet I simply can't imagine my life without this perfect little kitten

It was quite a while ago on a dog forum. I'll try to find the link later today although it may be difficult because at the time, I was just randomly browsing and came across the link.
