I recently moved back in my moms house with my two cats. Cosmo has NEVER peed outside the litter box before but today he's peed twice in the living room in two different spots. I've been here for over a week and I also did see him use the box also today and this is the first time i'm noticing any pee on the carpet. It's not a lot, it's bright yellow (not sure if it's usually that color since I've never actually seen his pee) and it doesn't smell. He's nuteured so I'm not sure if he's marking because my mom has a male dog but he doesn't bother them either. I'm not sure if maybe he has a urinary tract infection since he peed in the living room within maybe 20 mins of each other. I don't want this to start being an everyday thing and if it's a UTI i need to take him to the vets lol.

Take him to the vet for a UTI test. Peeing outside the box, especially in males, can be dangerous. Males can block up completely.

If it's not a health issue, then it's behavioral. You can do a search in the Behavior forum for how to address that.
