Hello, I just found this site and I'm glad I did! Looks like a great place for animal lovers!
I've been around cats all my life...my parents adopted one a few years before I was born. He lived to be around 19. After he passed, the house was, naturally, very lonely, and I was longing to adopt kittens, as I missed that stage with the first cat. Finally my parents agreed, and 2 years ago I adopted 2 little bundles of fluff. I saw their faces on the shelter website and fell in love.
The girl is named Flossie and the boy is named Chance. Chance's name came from the lady who was fostering them. They would go to the pound to take in strays for adoption, and Chance was very dehydrated when she found him. His meow was very hoarse. She wasn't sure if he would make it or if it would be worth the time, but he made it just fine and is a real sweetie (when he wants to be!
Here's a pic of the first kitty, Stripes (yes, my parents were terribly creative with his name
Here's some pics:
Flossie shortly after we got her, snoozing on the couch:
Both of them, about half a year old, on top of the cat tree:
Both shortly after getting them (the card table had been used as a "gate" to keep them in the family room for their first few days in the house. I slept on an inflatable bed on the floor

Here's a recent pic of them (many of my recent ones aren't uploaded yet
