Using the litter box but not covering it up

My cat is using the litterbox only once or twice a day. You can see my thread entitled "Feline Leukemia- losing the battle" for more details on my cat. But anyways... she will use the litter box but doesn't cover it up. She'll just pee in the corner and then get out. She did htis once yesterday and i noticed it this morning too. What does this mean? Is she just too tired to cover it up with the litter? She just doesn't carE? Is giving up, or what?

your situation is vastly different than mine but I have noticed pepe has done this as well and i'm chalking his situation up to him either just being lazy about it or just not in the mood to make the effort since he doesn't do it all the time.

Some of my cats don't cover it up, they're healthy, but I guess its just laziness. If the box is pretty clean, I'll just tilt the box and let the litter cover it up, or one of my other guys will get in and cover it up for them.

One of my cats does that occasionally, but I think she's just being lazy. It was really funny watching them this morning. Miss Patchwillow peed in the litter, then walked away. Shareena stood at the end of the litter box, reached in with one paw, and very neatly covered it up.
