When I got my cat, she started peeing on clothes if they were left on the floor, so I stopped leaving things on the floor. Only MY clothes. My fiance's stuff is all over the place, and she never pees on his!
She's peed on the bath mats, and I've washed them several times. I don't care much about them anyway, I'll probably just take them out of the bathroom. I thought the problem was fixed, but I just looked at a comforter I had in a chair in a room I don't use much, and it's got almost 10 pee spots on it! I think she might have peed on that one before, and I've washed it. I've read that washing it isn't good enough, so I guess I'll have to try washing it a different way? Maybe with vodka, or white vinegar.

I'm just so frustrated. I really doubt she has a UTI, because she pees in her litterbox more than half the time. Just the past few days, I've noticed that she'd been peeing less, and I shrugged it off, but now I realised she's just been taking it out on that poor comforter. :/

There was a towel on my futon, and she peed on that too, I turned the mattress, and I'm praying she just won't do it again.

I'm afraid that even if I get the scent out of everything she's peed on, she'll just find new things. I don't know what to do! I've already read all the threads about this problem. I'm so frustrated!

well, it could be behavioral... but until health problems [like possible UTI] are ruled out, you really can't be sure.

the only time mine ever have done anything like this is because of a health problem. so if one of mine was doing this, we'd be vet-bound before i tried anything else. trying multiple behavioral approaches can get a bit pricey - all of that $$$ is wasted if the problem stems from a health issue.

I took my cat to the vet, it did end up being a UTI. I'm taking her in for treatment first thing in the morning. I just hope she starts using the box when she gets better. >.<

she probably will. both of the ones i've had treated for similar had no issues returning to the box.
however, if she does, try the CatAttract litter or additive - it really works!
you can buy it online, but my local Petsmart also carries it.

Yes, cat attract was going to be the first thing I tried if she didn't go back to it on her own. It sounds really promising.

I have 2 that have UTI's and they urinate all over when they have it. As soon as the antibiotic kicks in, they go right to their litterbox, no more problems.

How long does it usually take for the antibiotics to kick in?
