Hello
I posted around a month ago about Pillo having a right swollen paw and red bruises. We took her to several vets, they gave her antibiotics and cleaning fluid for her paw. These bruises later developed into pox like blisters and then dried and fell off but the swelling did not go away.
We took her back to the vet and he told us it was nothing to be worried about and he gave us another course of antibiotics and the paw will get better on its own.
However, we just finished the couse yesterday but the swelling is still there AND shes starting two other small pox and her LEFT HAND is swollen aswell!

Has anyone had thsi blister pox problem?
At first it looks like there is bleeding below the skin, and then it grows hard and develops into a hard pox/blister

i had somthing similar a few years back with my kitkat and it turned out to be an allergy. the vet thinks he stepped in something that triggered the cracking and swelling. mostly it looked like it affected between the paw prints. but im not sure if this is the same circumstance but let us know how things turn out. is it an outdoor kitty? maybe a bee or spider sting?

I've never encountered that problem with my kitties. Has the vet checked for allergies?

I had something similar on one of my cats. I just changed brands of litter and she's been fine ever since.

The litter idea is not a bad one. It's possible for a cat to have a sensitivity to any chemical, and any scented litter (and most have some scent) is likely to irritate a certain percentage of cats.

This shouldn't come as a shock, by the way. McDonalds says that any new ingredient they add to their foods will likely kill about 12 people per year, just because so many people eat their food, and the odds of sensitivities.

If the litter doesn't do it, ask about a staph infection. I do know of two dogs who have had staph - one is still fighting it, the other was the first documented case of staph in a dog. I imagine it can happen in cats too.

The blisters concern me, either a hive type reaction which does tend to go away or infection. Staph requires different antibiotics.....

I'm hoping for the allergy though.

Staph infection, sounds scary. The blister has dried again but the swelling has not gone away.

Can someone please describe what staph is like? How serious is it?
her blister is 0.5 mm diamiter

Pillo is an indoor cat but her immune system is not fantastic.

I really really hope she gets better soon!
