I used to like my job, but over the years of being ignored and no one ever valuing my opinions, I have stopped giving them. I get tired of being treated like crap and never know what is going on. Either I"m the last one to find out or I find out indirectly. I think that is very rude and unprofessional. This can be work related or even personal. I always feel excluded and sometimes I think it is on purpose especially if it is a certain co-worker.
With the way this year has gone I'm not surprised what else they have slapped on me. We are losing a co-worker (who I really liked) and my boss told me she had another "project" for me. She didn't even ask me if I wanted it. She just basically volunteered me for it.
It just makes me mad because I think that she thinks I will be there forever and I am already trying to research job opportunities overseas. I have been there almost 3 years. I already do inventory, the on call schedule and now a quality improvement project, while the newest person who has been there over a year, has no extra projects whatsoever.
So I basically told my boss I knew that this was going to happen, that I hate giving presentations and that I really am tired of them because I had to do so many in the program I was in. She knew I wasn't happy and I really hate getting up in the mornings because I have to go.
So does it seem fair that the newest person has nothing extra to do? I don't understand why she couldn't get it. Maybe she thinks she isn't staying because she is about to have a baby. I wonder what she would do if I left also?
I think I've reached an all time low. I don't know if it will ever get better.
