Glitch gained on luvmycat1 by using bucket and also used space but as you know by now, used bucket first so space was available for somebody else. Nobody else actually did use space but yam102284 used myspace and the kats gave her credit. BelongsToEvie continued to move up and is almost in the green now by using same. Nice and more were easy words but nobody used them.

Today's KatKwiz was about giving gifts.

Do you give and receive lots of gifts to/from members? Would you like to see some "big ticket" gifts that you could buy for extra special people? Do you know what the prices of gifts are for both premium and non-premium members? Do you always make sure you are aware of when you have received a gift (and know how to do so)? And many people feel this is very important, do you always thank people for gifts they send you?

I don't give or receive lots of gifts. I have been thinking about giving more members gifts since I have so many points. I would like to see some big ticket gifts that are able to be bought to give to other members. I think having other gifts would make things more interesting. I always make sure the person who sent me a gift knows I received it, either by sending another one to them, or sending them a private message. I think it's important that you at least say thank you for your gift, because they took the time and used their points to send you a special gift.

I have quite a few gifts though it's been awhile since I've gotten one. I think it would be kind of neat to give or recieve a more expensive gift. I didn't even know there were different kinds of gift for paying and non paying members. I do know how to recieve a PM that alerts me when I got a gift. I always thank the person that sent me a gift. I would be rude not too. I've sent gifts before and suprisingly haven't gotten thanked. Kind of hurt my feelings a bit.

Thank you! The points always come in handy! I still have high hopes of playing in the katkwery superbowl and if I keep this up I might get to! But theres alot of days left and plenty of time for people to get way ahead so at this point Im just thinking positive!

I do enjoy sending other people gifts and I love to receive them! Its alot of fun! Big ticket items would be fun, I have however donated points to several people to buy arcade passes which are 10,000 so I think those are kind of big tickets, but it would cool if I could actually buy them the arcade pass instead of just donating the points! I dont know how many people really have enough points to buy alot of gifts, it seems like the more points people have the less gifts they buy! I like to go on shopping sprees and give tons of gifts all at once and I try to make sure Im giving them their favorite gift so its more fun for all! Then we go on sprees sending gifts back and fourth until we each have some 7 of the same item in a row! So much fun! Its like 200 plus tax for regular members and I think I pay 148.17 points for gifts since premium members get a 30% discount on all items. Oh its 211.67 points for non paying members! I have it set up so I get a private message (PM) everytime I recieve a gift, its more fun if you can say thank you and then go ahead and send them a gift also! My gifts right now are in a weird order, they use to be the other way around where the new ones were at the bottom, but now they are at the top! So its a change Im trying to get used to but I dont know really. I think its very important to say thank you to someone who has gone out of their way and given you a gift or made a donation to you! They took the extra time to get you the gift so its only fair that you take a moment of your day and send them a thank you! If you go to User CP (control panel) and then click on edit shop options, then you will get a menu that shows you your options for gift giving and recieving, then go down to where it says "Do not recieve a PM upon recieving a new gift" and make sure it says no, you will get a PM everytime you get a new gift! If you to change it to yes you wont get a new PM everytime you recieve a new gift which would lead me to be very confused!

I always make sure to put my points in the bank, that way they get interest and I can buy more gifts! I also wish we could give ribbons to one another instead of just buying them for yourself. It would be more interesting them, because there are people going through things that the ribbons are appropriate for so sending them a ribbon would be very neat, but since you can't do that it kind of stinks!

I love giving gifts to people!! In fact, gifts are the only reason I haven't given all my points away.
I wouldn't say I've received lots, though it does make a huge difference now that I'm more active- I'm receiving more than before!

Sure, I save points to buy them, but I still wouldn't be able to tell ya! Except for glitch says they're 200 points, so I'd guess that!


No, I really don't like the idea of big ticket items. Gifts already segregate the members here- there are those with tons, and those with none. Expensive ones would just make that more obvious. I know when I only had a few, I felt kind of left out. That's why I love giving gifts! I give random ones to people with not so many.
What can I say, I like people to be equal.


Well, it's hard for me not to notice a new gift at this point.
Plus, when I sign in, I get that PM. In fact, until this KatKwery, I had no idea NOT getting a PM was an option!


Oh yes, it is very important to recognize a gift. I ALWAYS make sure to respond, if it's it's just "Thank you!!". But I do try to say more than that, too, like a comment on the gift or reason behind it, and if appropriate, I send one back!

i think some 'big ticket' choices would be fun! i don't give/receive gifts a great deal, but i enjoy both when the occasion presents itself. i'm unsure how prices are different for premium vs. non-premium members - i know they're lower for premium members, but not by how much. i get a PM when i've received a gift - i appreciate knowing since i always send a thank you to the gift giver. we have discussed in other threads the 'proper protocol' regarding gift giving - some people felt they needed to reciprocate, but i think a 'thank you' is sufficient.

I'm a little slow at responding to KatKwery again today! Grrr... Oh well!

Anyway, in answer to the questions, I haven't bought very many gifts for other people. I guess I haven't figured out who to give gifts to or why, except a few new members as welcome gifts or members whose cats are sick. I haven't been around long enough to receive many gifts from other people, either. I don't mind, though, because that means my user info area is not so cluttered! :lol

I actually had no idea that there were different prices for paying and non-paying members to purchase gifts. I keep learning new things all the time around here!

I am always alerted by pm when I've gotten a gift or donation from someone, and I also receive an email from TCS, which keeps me posted and updated on new private messages. I try to thank everyone who gives me a gift or donation by sending them a pm back. I do agree that it is important to let people know you've received what they sent, as well as express your appreciate and gratitude for their kindness!
