McCain "Pump" ad what do you think?

Ok, I live in a state that is expected to be a close call, so we have been seeing the commercials for weeks. I personally am not enamored of either candidate for various reasons. However this ad has just about put McCain out of consideration for me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiTpS4MK3D8

Now this is from the man who talks about his excellent judgment. What kind of judgment and decision making supports such nonsense? I mean recently Obama was the junior Senator with no experience and now he is so powerful that he is single handedly responsible for high oil and gas prices.

I could blow this off if it was an ad put out by one of the fringe groups, but this is an official McCain endorsed ad.

Does he believe this ad? Does he believe the majority of the American public is so stupid they will believe this ad?

No matter where one stands on offshore drilling there is no way that one can blame the current oil prices on Obama.

Can anyone tell me how this is something that will gain votes for McCain?

Did he just blame Obama for high gas prices?

That's a good one!

Sorry, just laughing so hard that I can't post more.

I haven't seen that add on TV yet, but I agree it is a misleading add. But, Obama is against off shore drilling and I think that is what they are pointing out. It was done badly, IMO.

I'm not really happy with any ads out right now. They both need to stop with the below the belt stuff. I don't want to watch/listen to 98 days of this.

Well, you can do what I did and cancel your cable and get Netflicks. I knew as soon as it came down to Clinton or Obama this was going to be the dirtiest most mudslinging campaign I've ever seen. So I decided to simply let it play out in the mass media and let it pass me by.

So what's next, is McCain going to blame Obama for the world food crisis? Or is he going to blame him for the Weathermen? I'm almost intrigued.

No, actually he has an ad out that compares him to Britany Spears and Paris Hilton.

I will look at voting records and other criteria in the fall but right now the republican ad are looking a little juvenile. And actually insulting to my intelligence that I couldn't see through them and would believe Obama was responsible for the gas crisis all by himself. Everyone should take a little of that blame pie. They should be trying to convince me his energy plan would work not trying to use fear tactics to influence me.

Bleh. Thank god for TIVO and the ability to fast forward through commercials.

Oh yes, because our offshore oil reserves are enough to eliminate the need for the USA to buy ANY foreign oil so that OPEC would have NOTHING to say, ever about gas prices in this country....And, as the voice is the commercial asks, "Who can we blame for this???" the background audience is chanting "O-bah-MAH! O-bah-MAH!"
IMO, they should make a commercial of people watching this ad enthusiastically with Weird Al Yankovic's "Dare To Be Stupid" in the background

I agree. I think if McCain continues on this path he is going to lose voters and not gain them.

I was on the fence for awhile. I am not a big McCain person because of some previous stuff but I was grudgingly going to remain open to change my mind. I am an Independent for a reason.
But these ridiculous assertions make be believe that they can't find anything with any substance to talk about. So instead of highlighting McCain's positives they make up absurd stuff like this.
Yes, Obama is that powerful. He can singlehandedly control gas prices.

Is that a real ad? Wow.

I did see that ad and it really left a bad taste in my mouth

like someone mentioned, why isn't he telling us how his plan will work? oh that's right, cause politics is not about that
