Aw, how sweet! What a cute little baby.
No, he wouldn't be very safe in mine, but that's mainly because there's nothing there for him to sit on or hide in! And since I am feeding them now (not in my yard, of course), I can tell ya we have lots of ferals around! My kitty-kins is indoor-only, except for a few supervised outings, so he's safe from her.
