I have no issues with Qantas. The first incident from London-Sydney is a freak accident, and I don't think it had to do with negligence - and it seems as though they handled the whole thing really well. Everyone on the plane apparently stayed calm.

The second incident is just one of those minor things that happens, and they turned back which was the right decision. The only problem was that it would have caused some drag. If the other incident hadn't have happened a couple of days before, it wouldn't have even made the news.

I think Qantas as an airline is excellent, and they do have an impeccable safety record. I will continue to fly them myself and have my cats fly with them when that time comes.

They'll be fine

for Teufel and Kaylee, but I'm sure they'll be fine. After two incidents in less than a week, you can be sure that Qantas will be a bit paranoid and double-check everything. I'd be more worried if you'd booked them with Lufthansa, due to the strike.

I can only book through Qantas or Singapore airlines, I have to admit i didnt quite want to book Singapore airlines as they have more accidental deaths with persians, this is why they dont take them on anymore.

I guess I am more upset that I cannot fly with them.

I am sad that you can't fly the kitties in the passenger area, but remember what a good guardian angel Teufel has

I am sending prayers and vibes for a safe journey for you all
Also, if anyone here wants to track your flight, just put the time and airline up for us to view and we can all log onto www.flytecomm.com (it's free to use the basic service) and thus track all your flight information, including location relative to the earth; flight altitude and airspeed; and, WHEN YOU SAFELY LAND
All our prayers and vibes will be helping your jet along

Honey - I don't know if it will help you feel better, but I felt the same way when my babies flew to NZ. They came out in the end okay and you will be able to see them as much as possible when they are in the quarantine facility - are you using a pet transporter? I used a pet transporter and they were very competent which helped a lot - it took so much stress off me.

Sending lots of vibes for you and the furkids.
