Kitten season is in full swing at the shelter. Last year I was fine with it, but this year for some reason there are too many adorable hard to resist kittens. One is an all white female with blue eyes (she's 3 months so they are going to stay that color, but she doesn't seem to be deaf). We got a litter last week 4 out of the 5 had bot fly. Then this weekend we got another unrelated orange little boy who had bot fly. He's got a bite wound on the side of his face & his neck. Then he has a huge wound on his chest very close to his heart. How this little guy made it I'll never know. He went to the vet on Saturday to have any bot flys removed. Then yesterday I had to clean out the wounds and make sure he was going OK. He was sitting in my hands and slowly started purring. Then started rubbing his head on my hand. I about fell over.
Then he looked up at me with this big eyes like he was saying, "are you my Momy?"
It's been a long time since I've wanted to take a kitten home, but the thought of him is killing me.
I know I can't I don't have the money or the space, but if I did I would have had a brand new kitten last night!
