Ok so this is in relation to the cookie catastrophe thread....
so yea, i've still got 1/2 a mixing bowl full of cookie batter. There is NO way i'm baking anymore tonight....i don't want to waste it though- what shall i do with the batter? Is it safe to freeze it? If so what should i freeze it in?

I'd freeze it. I always do. There are only two of us in the house, so I often have left over cookie dough. I wrap it in parchment paper and shape it into a cylindrical form which makes for easy cutting. I then put the roll into two freezer zip lock baggies. I've never kept them in there longer than 2 mos.

They will still cook up nicely.

Make cookie dough ice cream!!! Making ice cream is pretty easy, and instead of putting in fruit, try using the cookie dough

*caveat: I've never made cookie dough ice cream*

Also, as already said, you can freeze the dough. I would suggest rolling it into a log, and just putting it on a wax paper coated cookie sheet into the freezer. Once frozen, then wrap it in plastic wrap. If you wrap it before the plastic will be frozen into the folds of the dough. If you wrap it after it's frozen, you can slice off pieces of the dough with a really sharp knife like you do with that ready made dough in tubes that you find in the dairy section.

Thanks for the tips ladies!

I went ahead and froze it in a container and put the date/etc on it so i'll remember what it is
(i didn't want to make ice cream out of it because it has an egg in it).
