One kitten will love more on my husband and the other comes to me. They will both come to us and since I am the "feeder" they will mew and rub on me at feeding time. When it comes to sleeping/napping Tacoma goes to my husband and Tundra comes to me. How do they know this in the matter of 6 days? The one that is still trying to suckle comes to me to go to sleep. If we are not around, they curl up with each other to fall asleep. If Tacoma happens to fall asleep on me, Tundra will come and sit right on top of him and push his way into a space. Or is this my imagination?????

Nope, cats definitely do have preferences. Punkin is my cat; he wants to be where I am. Sterling is Dottie's cat; he sleeps next to her, and follows her around.

Ella is still sorting it out.

Nope not your imagination. lol I have cats that will seek out my dh at certain times of day because they know he is good for someone to cuddle with for a nap. (he works at 4am) I have others that I have to constantly watch for under my feet. I have one kitten that my daughter can play dress up with and she loves it, but if my dh and I pick her up she wants down immediately. All of the cats and dogs love my dh and dd whenever food is around because they know they will get a sample, I refuse to feed them off my plate so I get to eat in peace. I think its wonderful you have his and hers kittens makes it nice, just be sure that they don't get too territorial over their "humans". My shadow has been known to try and nibble my dh if he gets too close. He's gotten better with discipline, but it is easier just to make sure they have boundaries from the beginning.

Yes,
Kittens have special glands in their faces that release scent. That is one of the reasons they rub their faces on you. It is to mark you as their property. Funny of you think about it, you own them, but they think that they own you.
