Is there anything I am supposed to be doing about this? He will crawl up on my or my husband and suckle on our t shirts and paw at us while purring (usually in the crook of our arms or at the neck line. He will lay close to my neck and have at it. He has also taken a particular fondness to one of my blankets. I recognize that he is looking to suckle. What should I do about this? His brother does not do this(suckle) but every now and again he will just paw at my chest.

Bless you for keeping these babies and giving them a loving home. I have three orphaned kittens. One that is 4 months old suckles the inside of my hand when he is sleepy or hungry. Another kitten would suckle a certain fleece blanket. I don't know what the vets say about this, but one of mine has almost stopped completely and the other has gotten less often.

Hopefully the more secure they get with their enviroment and as they get older this may lessen. Some say their adult cats still have this behavior just not as often. They sound precious.
