laws for cats entering US from EU

Hello everybody, I volunteer at the local animal welfare and there is a couple that is on holidays here and would like to adopt a stray cat, I am in a greek island and the couple lives in USA.

Does anybody knows the requirements for a cat entering USA?

The CDC is incharge of importation of animals. The familly will also have to check with the airlines and with their state for their restrictions.

The actual entry point makes a difference also and some states have different licensing and vaccination by-laws so they should check those out for their own state too
