My in and out 4 year old boy is coughing occassionally. He is eating great, his lungs sound clear, his eyes and nose are clear and fine. He is happy and purring. Taking him to a vet is a nightmare. It's been a week. Any comments? Should I wait or take him in? All other cats in the house are fine.

Is he coughing anything up?
Is the cough similar to this video?

If so that's asthma. The coughing can scar his lungs. If you see him breathing with an open mouth (different than panting) please get to a vet with an oxygen cage or an ER vet.

You need to get him to the vet. If he is spraying since he started coughing that's a sign something is wrong.
