Mary and Cleo are uninterested in eating for some reason. They give me their signals that they want to eat on schedule. SO that part is normal. But when I set the food out they eat some and then that is it. Not anywhere near their normal amounts.
Everything is else is the same. They are vocal and come for rubs and cuddles. I can't understand it unless they are breaking into treats and I am unaware of it.
I took them to the vet and they got a clean bill of health so...?
Anyone have any theories?

How is the weather? Cats often eat less when it's hot out. It could also be that their metabolisms are changing--how old are they? Do you have a scale? I would suggest weighing them once a week for a while to see if they are losing weight. If they are losing weight, then I would suggest discussing with a vet. If they stop eating altogether, then call the vet right away, of course, but if they're eating less and maintaing their weight, then I wouldn't worry too much.

It was hot yesterday. Our Pacific Northwest weather has been its usual all over the place weather. Yesterday it was warm but the day before it did not get above 71. I don't have AC in my house. Most houses don't have it around here because truthfully you only need it maybe 2 weeks out of the year and then those days are spread out. My house stays pretty cool inside without it but maybe the ups and downs are affecting them.
They are 3 and 1 1/2.

I didn't even look to see that you're in Oregon too. I finally installed a window A/C that I only have in during the summer--while my apartment is basically one story, it's on a hill and it can get pretty hot at times. How much less are they eating than normal? If it's not a ton, then I'd just watch their weight--if it's stable then it may just be that they need less food.

It is just less food. I didn't realize you were in Oregon too.

I am paranoid somewhat because of past experiences. I almost lost Mary and I had to put a young one to sleep who stopped eating. He had FIP. I get so worried that something is wrong. I gave them tuna this morning and they ate it.
I get worried when they don't do the things they normally do and appetite changes freak me out.

I completely understand--I lost my Willow to FIP, and her primary symptoms were merely eating less and being a bit grumpy. My boyfriend's cat stopped eating early this week, and he was acting antisocial, so my boyfriend and I of course panicked. Fortunately, with his kitty it was just a little stomach bug and he's back to eating now. We were both pretty worried at the time. I really have to keep myself from jumping to the conclusion of FIP with everything I read, since Willows symptoms were so non-specific.

That is what happened with Olivier. He stopped eating. I was blindsided when he got sick and I got the diagnosis. I don't ever want to be ill prepared like I was. It made the hurt even worse. I had to take a sedative because I was crying so much and so hard. I could not stop. Plus I feel guilty that I did not notice it earlier.
