Vibes for Kinky

I was petting Kinky a few day or two ago and he had a little sore spot, so I inspected it and there was a tiny little scratch, which is normal because Arthur picks on him.
It wasnt warm, or red, or swollen so I figured no big deal, they get scratches all the time.
Well today I was petting him and I felt what I thought was a little fat bump from the way he was sitting, but he mewed when I sratched him so I took a closer look. The area around the scratch (still no redness) is swollen about an inch or two down and maybe an inch across. Anyhow, long story short. I picked the scab off (well, it came off while I was pulling the hair away from it) and it was filled with puss It seems like I got about 1/4tsp out of it before the clear stuff started to come out when I squeezed it and Kinky didnt complain at all. I rinsed his fur with peroxide mix in that spot but I didnt want to squirt it into the hole that is now opened up in his side (just from a claw going in is my guess, so its not really big or anything). It was awful, smelled horrible, just yuck. So vibes please, if the swelling isnt significantly down tomorrow morning when I get up he's going to the vet (if they can get me in) for antibiotics.

I have a friend that is going through the same thing. I am not sure but, I think the sooner you get antibiotics the better. You never really know with cats hiding their discomfort like they do. Hoping for a quick recovery.

Poor Kinky! He probably has an abscess. I hope he is ok.

Yep...sounds like an abcess...love the name btw, my first cat was named Kinky and he helped raise me from the age of 2 to 17...just the best cat in the world.

It was still just as swollen (or nearly) this morning so we're headed to the vet at 2:50 today.
