We applied Frontline on both of the boys Tuesday

Today we are still seeing live fleas on Jack. Shouldn't they all be dead?

What you are seeing are probably the ones that are living in your carpeting. Eventually these live fleas will get a bite and die.

I would recommend getting some diatomaceous earth (human/food grade) and sprinkling it on your carpeting. Use a broom to work it down into the fibres. If you do a search on this forum you will find lots of info on DE and Laureen (I believe) has included a link to a website where you can order it, or at least read all about it. It is completely safe for humans and animals and does a great job of killing insects of all types. I use it to keep ants and earwigs out of the house during the summer months.

The house has been treated already--my dad works for Orkin Pest Control--he has about 25 years experience dealing with fleas (not with on the animal products however).

I guess we just need to patient huh? It's been such a rough week here, God Bless summer vacations this time Saturday I'll be looking out over the ocean!

I'll update how things are when we return from the beach. The boys have a close friend coming to check on them while we are gone.

Then you have a great jump on the problem. We had an infestation one time when we got a barn cat that we had to have pest control professionals come in. We tried products we got from the vet for our environment, had the cat de-flead at the vet, and still had mega-fleas. We finally gave in, took the cat back to the vet overnight, had the pros come in and spray while we took our daughter away from the house for the whole day.

Sounds like you are well taken care of for the flea issue - now just a bit of patience and they'll all soon be gone.

Fleas... ahh fleas and in Florida.

I use Borax. old fashion I know but has worked in our carpets for years. Sprinkle on carpets, vacumn up after about 20 mins. We do this once a month, more if we see them. Seems the stuff kills fleas and eggs. An old farmer told me about this and his usage over the years worked for him.

just my thoughts

I LOVE Frontline, I use it on all my kitties and they are all flea free. I think all the fleas on your cats will die, maybe it was too soon.
