My cat was left home alone for the entire day with plenty of food and water. I left the A/C and all 3 fans in my house on, but the power short-circuited and turned off. She somehow got trapped in the bathroom, which is the hottest room in the house and when we came home, she started running around, meowing very loudly and panting heavily. We always keep the bathtub with some water in it for her because she loves to splash around in it. So she had that water, but it was very hot in that bathroom. I'm very worried about her. She has no interest in food or water and she won't even play. She normally is very playful. She just lies down in front of the A/C now. And sometimes she'll get up and start meowing again. The thermostat says my house is over 90 degrees with the air on, so I can't imagine being locked in a hot bathroom with no air.

I hope you find one. When we moved here all my cats panted. We went to turn the A/C on in thr car and the heat came on. Can you ice her down and put cool water on her. Thats what we did .

My apartment gets very hot too. I usually have to wet down my cats with a wet towel regardless of their aversion to water. Nonetheless, I would take your cat to a vet because he may be dehydrated and require some fluids.

Where do you live? Maybe one of the members knows a good vet in your area.

Please keep us posted. I know you must be so worried. I would get her to your closest vet. But, a lot of cats have to make it outside when it's really hot so maybe she's okay. I sure hope so! Sending some cool healing your way!

I've been watching her very carefully this morning and she seems fine. I woke up and her food and water bowl were empty, she was in trouble for playing with my sisters jewelry, and she was standing on my chest. So she seems to be fine, but i'm still gonna watch her for awhile and if I see anything that seems like she's in trouble i'll take her to the vet.

Make sure she has plenty of water. She could be a little dehydrated so you might want to have a vet check her out anyway instead of just letting her drink water - may not be quite enough water in her system.

Don'tever cool anything ddown to quickly when heated like that as could put into shock she probably got heat exhaustion like a person would let her cool down and try ice water in water dish our Bella loves ice In. Water you can give warm bath tempid water so doesn'tshock her but being wet will help coolbodytemp down and just worry about cat getting fluids in this situation.and when she cools down will start to feel better but take to vet if improvement not soon may be dehydrated along with heat exhausted.Just for future situations as I see was posted in July.hope this helps
