Once Upon a Time in China
I'm going to let you all in on a little secret. I love Kung Fu movies. Yes, I know, they are plot-less and have predictable characters. Yet, all of that with standing I'm a sucker for a good one. Especially if it involves the following men: Jet Li, Bruce Lee, and Jacky Chan*.
Everything I've heard about this movie is true. The fight scenes are amazing, the plot is so weak that an average teen comedy could beat it up, and Jet Li looks very young.
Is this worth the rental? Sure. Don't look for a heavy duty art film when renting it though. Also, it's slightly bloody so take caution with the little ones. Oh, and it's in Mandarin so you'll have to read subtitles.
*Jacky Chan- I love this mans Chinese language films. He was also in The Cannon Ball Run. That's one of my all time favorite guilty pleasure movies.
