hey!

thought i`d say hi and introduce myself, i`m Leah and i don`t have a cat at the moment but will be picking my new baby up in 3 weeks time

i`ve had cats in the past and thought i`d wait until my daughter was a bit older before introducing another one to the house.

i`m not sure if my cat is a boy or girl (the so called breeder is terrible, i wish i could take all the cats away) for now i`m saying girl. she has brown black and white patches so at first i thought calico but then read they had to have red.....

anyway i thought joining here would be a good idea since it`s been a while since i had a cat and any advice is always helpful

here`s a pic of her i took last saturday, it`s quite blurry but i didn`t want to stress her out anymore, i just can`t wait to get her away from the horrible 'breeder' the woman makes me so angry with the way she treats her cats



she`s such a cutie, before i met her i was thinking of the name jaya but as soon as i seen her i thought twix...now i`m stuck as to what the name will be......

I don't believe the cat needs any red to be a calico, it just needs three colors. Also, calicos are only girls (although there are a few freak unsterile males every now and again) so it's a girl

i use the term breeder very loosely with this woman, she basically lets her cats go out and get pregnant all the time so animal abuser may be more appropriate! i`ve contacted cats protection who will be keeping an eye on her. i was almost tempted not to take this little girl when i found out about the circumstances until she mentioned possibly keeping it if it was a girl to breed

You've got to be kidding!!!! I can't believe someone would actually breed domestic cats on purpose!

And she doesn't even know that 99% of calicos are female! Oh my goodness....

Well I'm glad you got that girl from her and reported her. Sadly there's not much else you can do

well i haven`t got the cat yet but only another week i`m still not sure about the calico thing as everywhere i read it seems to say the cat has to have red......oh well i`ll soon be able to have a look for myself and find out the true sex. i can`t wait to get her home, everytime i go to buy things for my rats i end up with lots of cat toys as well haha

I love the name Twix too, plus it's a gender-nuetral name, so it will work with a boy or a girl

I can't wait to see that lady on "Animal Precinct" or something on Animal Planet Hopefully someone can intervene and stop her from breeding like that
