I just discovered that Delilah (5 months) has a small lump on her left side, just in front of her hind leg. I'm going to call the vet, and they're scheduled to get spayed next Monday, but I did a search and I'm thinking that it is vaccine related. The kittens received their last round of boosters, and their rabies vaccine, 2 weeks ago tomorrow.

I found a ton of threads relating to post-vaccine lumps. From the looks of it, most people were given the "wait and monitor" approach and never posted an update about what happened to the lump.

So, I was wondering if anyone who posted about these lumps were still around to give an update on their cat's health? Did the lump go away? Were any tests needed after waiting? Did anyone's lumps get bigger and end up being more than a bump?

Thanks in advance for any information!

My Lucy had one from her Shots and she never was normal again. She kept needing blood transfusions every few months after that and the Vet could not figi=ure out why. Coco my 16 year old Cat can not have shots anymore because she gets the lumps and they last 2 months and she has reactions. Do you know what shot gave the lump? My friends Cat got Cancer from the Rabies Shot. Cocos were just lumps and she is fine. it depends on the Cat. Not all of the get Cancer like my friends Midnight did. Meeko had lump when she got her kitten shots and she is 8 now and is fine.

I lost a scottish fold to cancer. It started as a pea sized lump in her hind leg that wasn't noticable except I was really petting her one day. To make a long story short it took off like wild fire and it was cancer. We tried everything to save her first with operation than with amputation. That cancer was so aggressive we could not save her and I had to let her go. It was so sad. Lumps should always be checked by the vet. They can be serious.

Raven had a bump on his spine, that initially we thought might be an abcess. Biopsy showed it to be Fibrosarcoma. It was inoperable due to location. It spread and we had him for 6 months after his diagnosis. Had surgery been an option, we would have gotten him to the University hospital as soon as we could.

Stimpy is prone to lumps and bumps. He's had a mole removed, and has skin tags. All of his have been benign. He has a fatty lipoma that we are keeping an eye on right now (the vet has checked it). The vet said if it changes we need to remove it.

I hope your kitty's bump is benign.
