After almost a year I'm afraid it is cancer.

We've all been there. Try not to feel guilty when you get mad at him, he knows he's doing wrong and he also knows how much you love him.

i know that virtually everyone will be able to relate to that statement. my precious janet was taken from me last october after a shockingly fast decline in his health. FIP was the winner in that fight.

i remember feeling just what you describe and panicking over life without my special boy. but when it came to the end, the knowledge that i was ending any suffering that he was experiencing, (and sadly i know he was) slightly overode the fear of losing him.

rather than dwelling on the future, enjoy every single moment of your time together. i pray that it will be a long time before you need to say goodbye.

he is here now. you can love him, hold him and make more precious memories that will one day comfort you.

take care.

That is what we did after Raven
was diagnosed. My DH even built him the cat tree he thought we would have had more time to build. The only thing we weren't able to do for him before he went to the Bridge was get him his own yard to play in.
He loved going outside on his harness/leash when we had yards he could go out in. We spoiled Raven
in his last months. He even got treats whenever he wanted (his appetite was pretty touch-and-go the last few months). I bought so many catnip bananas and other catnip fruit for him--his favorite toy. And we bought our Drinkwell not long after he was diagnosed. He loved drinking fountains and we had been without one for a while.

Spoil him, love him, and be there for him. When Raven
went to the Bridge it was the best gift we could give him. The cancer had spread so much and he was in so much pain.
I miss him terribly, but he is no longer in pain. We couldn't let him go on like that. We loved him too much to let him suffer.

Jordan has been extra cuddly the last few days, and I'm taking full advantage of his cuddles. I've been laying in bed extra long in the morning just to be with him. Last night he was cuddling with me for at least an hour. I have told him a couple times that if he is going to leave I will be OK, but that he should teach one of the other kitties to cuddle "the right way" (that would be the way he does). None of my other cats are much for laying by my face the way he does. I had to laugh last night because I had bought him a special Jordan pillow (basicly a pillow covered with material with cats on it), and he still pushes my head off my pillow. He did that last night. All of a sudden I woke up with no pillow, and Jordan laying smack in the middle of my pillow. I just had to laugh because it is typical for him. Then this morning I wasn't getting ready fast enough, and he was hovering around the couch waiting for me to get up so he could have "his"
spot on the couch.
He's such a sweet guy!

Jordon does sound like a sweet guy...
He is telling you how much he loves you and wants you to know that when he goes to the Rainbow Bridge..you are to know that he'll be happy, healthy, and waiting for you. He knows how much you love him....even when he does naughty things...

i do hope the vet is wrong, but at least by knowing in advance, you can spoil him and spend as much time as possible with him, to make sure you have loads of good memories.

He has been so cute lately. Every morning he sits paitiently and waits for me to stand up off the couch. This morning I looked at him & said OK your spot is open. He was all happy & jumped from the floor to the arm of the couch and came trotting over to sit in his spot. He really is not acting sick at all. He's so darn cute!

aww gawd i really feel for you. i've gone through this recently with my 14 year old marvin. he was absolutely fine - one day i got up and he wasn't in his usual bed. he hadn't been to poo for a few days (he always had sluggish digestion) so we assumed he may have had constipation as he was lethargic, reluctant to move & looked all wirey. his eyes were glazed. we took him to the vet & they kept him in to do an enema, but it turned out he had a huge tumour in his tummy that had spread to his liver. we let him go while he was under anaesthetic & i was there in time to be with him. in hindsight i look back at the vomiting & big belly & see them as omens, but his symptoms were always what could be something else ie hairballs & just being overfed etc!! i'm so glad it happened suddenly as i couldnt have beared watching him fade. you must feel as though you have the weight of the world on your shoulders knowing that your baby is ill - i just hope so much that it is quick for both of you. when i went to say goodbye i tried my hardest not to cry too much cuz i didnt want the last thing marv heard to be me sobbing - i wanted him to hear me telling him he was a good boy & that i loved him. this is what you have to do with your baby - spend every day with puss as if it is your last and savour every minute, be happy for your time together & don't let fear and sadness take away from it. you can do it

I'm sorry you are faced with the diagnosis, but I hope you cherish every memory you have left with him and wish you plenty of days making them!

lots of
for you in this difficult time. I'll keep hoping that maybe it's something less serious, but if you're right, then I wish you two lots of happiness together for as long as Jordan has, and I know he'll appreciate the loving he gets from you.

I noticted in this photo you can see the "spot" I'm talking about.
It is in the eye closest to the camera (his left eye). You'll notice a circle that glows differntly than the rest of his eye. This "spot" is noticable even without any light. So far I have not taken him to the vet. I am working up the courage to admit that he might be very sick (even though he's not showing it yet)

My neighbours cat has had a funny coloured eye for years, and she has always ignored it cos it doesnt bother him - he is at the specialist for something else, and it turned out to be glaucoma, so hopefully Jordan's will be something as simple as that.

As nervous as I am he is going next Monday. The other 3 need vacinations so I thought, well I might as well just bite the bullet & take all 4 at once.
