We had a problem also. We Sold my Grandparents House last Sept and the Checks were sent Ups. Ours didnt come so we called them and they said no one was here but we were here all day. we had to go there at 9 to pick the check up. My Sisters check was lost by Ups but they found it. Another time my friend in Holland sent me a package and it never came. It was never found either. My Avon was sent from Ohio an di was tracking it. All of a sudden it says contact Ups it had been stolen. Someone in the Ups office in Ohio stole it.

Can you try to find out what happens to the package once you dropped it off??

Only through the USPS or FedEX tracking, but FedEX shows nothing and USPS doesn't show any update since the date I sent it, and on that date they were supposed to transfer my package to FedEX to ship it Intl. but FedEX says they've never received the package from them.

So something happened between the drop of the package and the USPS task to move it on to FedEX. In other words: They lost it.

That is what they told me too, I was so upset that my Christening gift for my niece was lost (and I was quite the
to FedEx over it) but then she called and said it got there - UPS still didn't have any information on it and could not locate it. Over a week after it got there I got all these emails in one day about its tracking and when I called them they said something like 'oh well sometimes they don't upload the tracking info every day'

I have been ordering books on Ebay. The first 2 sets I order the usps put them in the big lock box and put the key in my mail box. The last and smallest set they tried to deliver but we were not home. They "said" they put a slip in our box or door or something, but I never did get it. They only reason I knew they tried to deliver it was that I checked the tracking on the internet.

I called the post office on Wednesday and the guy who answered the phone found the package and said it would be delivered Thursday. Guess what? It wasn't! I called again Friday and the girl who answered the phone went back a checked. It was still there! She was mad and said it should have been delivered already! Well SHE put a big note on it and it was delivered Saturday.

It took a woman to figure out what a man couldn't do!

Hope the package gets found and delivered!

It could be anywhere. Fed Ex handles the international mail for the USPS. I work for the latter and don't even trust them with my own packages.

I have a feeling that the package will eventually show up. I experienced a problem with a package recently too. I ordered a vintage doll from Ebay on June 28th. The seller mailed it from Quebec, Canada on June 30th via expedited mail. I traced the package on a daily basis and noticed there was no activity on the parcel since July 3rd. I checked everyday and called Canada Post and USPS often. Both services told me that the package was lost and must be traced. However, the seller was telling me that I was overreacting. After 21 days and no activity, the seller agreed to file a claim with Canada Post.

Amazingly, the package arrived one hour later. This was yesterday. It was probably stuck in customs. Nonetheless, the package should have been traced at major checkpoints.

I'm just glad my doll arrived to me safely!

I worked for the USPS for a short time, and they are not classified as a government agency any more. It was all very confusing the way they explained it. As far as them telling you about tracking a package, that is a load of bull, they can track a first class letter if the right agency gets them to.

I guess the best way to define the USPS is that it's a quasi-government agency now- an independent establishment of the executive branch. It's owned by the government and run at the top (poorly I might add) by presidential appointees (such as he Postmaster General) but isn't funded by the taxpayers anymore, the USPS relies on revenue from sales to pay for its operations.

I have an update:
*******************

Yesterday I went back the Post Office with the slip and the receipt and I had to wait about 40 minutes to finally get a reply. They couldn't find the package but they were very surprised that it happened because it's their guarantee service.

I was told I would receive a call and I did receive it from FedEX, they told me they would look for the package and see where it is.

Guess what... they did find the package, and they're shipping it only now, the tracking on the screen came back alive. I called FedEX for the refund, and they said I should get a check by mail in 10-14 days (they're not in a rush to refund you).
