I haven't seen anyone here talk about Dr. Foster & Smith's cat food- does anyone use it? Here's a link to their site http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...fm?c=3261+8743

If you click the food, then click "more information" for the ingredients.

I've fed the wet food to my cats and they like it. What do you think about the ingredients in the wet and dry food?

Thanks!

Stephanie

I think it looks pretty good. Heads above grocery store brands and light on the bad grains. I guess the brown rice is for fiber. The first two sources of ingredients are meat which is great. No by products or funky vague sources.
It matches quite well against premium brands.

The price isn't too bad either- I guess you have to figure in shipping though.

I might have to order another cat tree to save on shipping...lol

if you can get something comparable locally, i'd do that - & order a cat tree from Armarkat [much more reasonable prices & FREE shipping!].

Bobert likes all three of the Country Classic canned foods, especially the Chicken Stew, probably because it is the only one of the three flavors that is not pate-style (and not fish). I felt the ingredients were fine. They recently had a buy-one-case-get-one-free sale and I thought that even the regular prices were reasonable. 50% off sounded like a great deal to me. Plus they don't charge extra for shipping, even when you're ordering heavy items. Lots of internet sites do. So, I bought...well, let's just say "a lot" of the Chicken Stew. If he decides early on that he no longer likes it, there are going to be some very happy shelters in my area.

I didn't think that he'd like the other canned food line so I didn't buy it.

I have so much other dry food for Pepsi that I never even thought about trying DFS. From what some people have said here, it doesn't sound like I'm missing much.

I'd say the biggest drawback is the inconvenience factor. It's obviously not as readily available as many other comparable brands. I would imagine that many people, including myself, wouldn't be too thrilled with that.
