Well my landlord heard I had 3 new kittens, not that I cant have animals or anything
. I have a very sporty spaniel, but anyways. His "girlfriend/model looking money spender
" has a spayed female cat that Is 3yrs.old and needs a new home. She said she seen her on the side of the road (coughs, or picked her out of a barn because she was 'fluffy') and put her In a box In her back seat and took her to the vet. She had worms she treated her and now wants to get rid of her because she's not an animal person. lol, yet she picked up a possible stray off the road, yet she dislikes animals? Sure she did, so I said I dont know much about cats and the only reason I took the kittens how Is because they were just little babies. Then he threw cards on my table, and he gave me a gamble on this. He owns 3 houses around me, the neighbor whom Is an older mid 40yr.old man who hates dogs (specially mine). We split a fenced yard In the back, It splits In two but he doesn't like my dog being In the fence because she chases the "local critters" lol. So my landlord charges me $25 everytime I've "caught" with Angel In the fenced yard!!! A bunch of BS I know, so then he goes if I take her cat "Rebel" I can have free unlimited access to the fence. My dog LOVES running around and I only get to let her run around at the park which Is a few blocks away and I do work lol. Plus with the kitties I REALLY needed this for her.

I now have 4 cats
, why do I get caught In everybody else's bull bolony! So he's dropping her off tomorrow morning, and I have no Idea what to get her lol, so I'll mostly likely be scanning all over the site for idea
. Hopefully she's a good cat, he said she's very friendly and the vet said she is now clear of worms but Is adviced to keep treating her just Incase.

Make sure you get that in writing, otherwise it's your word against his, which he can take back anytime he wants.

It should be a written adendum to your lease/rental agreement.

I have one cat who hunts and she gets worms every year-its a pill that I only have to give to her quarterly to rid her of the worms. If you have a strictly inside cat thought and the correct meds were given you shouldn't have a problem with the worms.
Are you going to find home for the kittens though when they are older??

Possibly I'm debating to give them to a local no kill shelter. I haven't decided yet, he Is adding It to my lease agreement and we both signatured It when he dropped Rebel off.

Over the river and through the woods...
Congrats on your new kitty! I agree you got a good deal.

I would recommend keeping her in a room by herself for a few days, especially if you don't know how she is around dogs. That will give her time to adjust to new surroundings. You just need to have a litterbox for her, food and water and some toys to occupy her. If you keep her an indoor kitty you won't have to worry about worms.

How did you end up with 4 kittens? How old are they? I missed that thread.

Good luck, and we're here to help if you have any questions.

Congrats on the new kitty! Really, at least the girlfriend took the cat in and took her to the vet. I'd definitely give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she just can take the responsibility of ownership yet she couldn't leave the kitty by the road.

Great news for the dog!

just tell her 'no' in a firm voice & put her back down. won't keep her off all of the time, but will eventually keep her off when you're around.
invest in some food surface cleaner [like the Chlorox Anywhere spray] & clean surfaces before doing food prep, because she'll likely have been on them when you weren't looking!

Oh yeah, I have cleaning sprays and everything. I love febreeze (sp?)
, I keep saying No at the moment she jumps on and put her down. She turns around a moment after I set her on the floor and jumps back on. I'm going to just put a cloth over It (so she doesn't shed all over it), or should I try spraying her with water?

the cloth might help, as well, because it'll make the surface less attractive, due to slippage. if you do use a spray bottle [board is divided on this] be sure to aim at her rear end, to avoid getting any in her ears.

I'll try the cloth idea first, If It doesnt work, I'll use a spray bottle.
